Identification and functional characterization of AcerOBP15 from Apis cerana cerana (Hymenoptera: Apidae)

چکیده
Coordination in honeybees is heavily dependent on their chemoreception system, which odorant-binding proteins are very important. A previous study based the antennal transcriptome of Apis cerana revealed that OBP15 was significantly up-regulated at 25-day-old. To further unravel and clarify its functional role, we first cloned characterized AcerOBP15 from antennae worker bees. Sequence phylogenetic analysis showed belongs to Minus-C OBPs family. primarily expressed forager legs. fluorescent binding assay had strong affinity most floral volatiles, a restricted number bee pheromone components non-volatile compounds, among highest myrcene. Based RNAi EAG assays, may be required for myrcene recognition. Taken together, suggest plays dual role olfactory gustatory reception when foraging. Our lays theoretical foundation studies regarding mechanism A. cerana.

Molecular characterization and oxidative stress response of a cytochrome P450 gene (CYP4G11) from Apis cerana cerana.
Cytochrome P450 proteins, widely distributed multifunctional enzymes, are mainly involved in biosynthetic and degradative pathways of endogenous compounds and the detoxification of xenobiotics in insects. Moreover, these enzymes exhibit peroxidase-like activity, therefore they may be involved in protecting organisms against the toxicity of reactive oxygen species (ROS). In the present study, we...
متن کاملThe Complete Mitochondrial Genome of the Asiatic Cavity-Nesting Honeybee Apis cerana (Hymenoptera: Apidae)
In the present study, we determined the complete mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequence of Apis cerana, the Asiatic cavity-nesting honeybee. We present here an analysis of features of its gene content and genome organization in comparison with Apis mellifera to assess the variation within the genus Apis and among main groups of Hymenoptera. The size of the entire mt genome of A. cerana is 15,895 bp...
متن کاملTranscriptome Analysis of the Asian Honey Bee Apis cerana cerana
BACKGROUND The Eastern hive honey bee, Apis cerana cerana is a native and widely bred honey bee species in China. Molecular biology research about this honey bee species is scarce, and genomic information for A. c. cerana is not currently available. Transcriptome and expression profiling data for this species are therefore important resources needed to better understand the biological mechanism...
متن کاملSequencing and Expression Characterization of Antifreeze Protein Maxi-Like in Apis cerana cerana
Antifreeze proteins (AFPs) are biological cryoprotectants with unique properties that play a crucial role in regulating the molecular mechanisms governing cold resistance in insects. To identify and characterize Apis cerana cerana AFP (AcerAFP), we cloned the full-length cDNA of AcerAFP and examined its expression patterns in A. cerana cerana. A nucleotide alignment analysis showed that the ent...
متن کاملMolecular Identification and Expressive Characterization of an Olfactory Co-Receptor Gene in the Asian Honeybee, Apis cerana cerana
Olfaction recognition process is extraordinarily complex in insects, and the olfactory receptors play an important function in the process. In this paper, a highly conserved olfactory co-receptor gene, AcerOr2 (ortholog to the Drosophila melanogaster Or83b), cloned from the antennae of the Asian honeybee, Apis cerana cerana Fabricius (Hymenoptera: Apidae), using reverse transcriptase PCR and ra...
